Seek Infinity

This project began with a simple question: what is true infinity? True infinity, not large numbers that only seem infinite. Infinity exists before you are born, and after you cease to exist. Humans have always desired something infinite: power, wealth, or life. But infinity is only reached when existence ends, when the body returns to dust and becomes part of it. Webcam interaction built in Javascript is used to visualize this idea. Infinity detects observation, the presence of a gaze, and shifts between two states: Reality and Infinity.

Reality is a state of presence.
Infinity is a state of absence.

Side eyes, made while trying not to be detected, show the desire to seek infinity. Another form of infinity appears when the eyes are covered. The dice (cube) represents incomplete infinity. More trials make larger numbers which never become infinite.

The idea of superposition is borrowed from a basic understanding of quantum mechanics. It exists as multiple, but once observed, only one remains. The cat cannot observe the outside, making the outside infinite. For those outside, the inside of the cube becomes infinity. We live as part of infinity, but can never reach it while we exist.
